4wd tracks around palmerston north

hey guys im just curious to know where there are some good tracks around palmerston north or around 50 km out of palmerston...

any ideas?

pics too if avail :P

there is a good 1 out of woodvile on the road to pongarua.i think i spelt it right and there 1 good 1 down otaki way.i no the place as orange hut just type that into google and u should fint the place.and some off the 4x4 guys go down to ashurst river

join the 4x4 club.or go and see a guy called grant at Manawatu Commercial & 4X4 Parts on keath st he dose 4x4 alot and he should be able to help ya out

Hi, have you been up Takapari Rd in the Ruahine ranges.? Its hard rock all the way and only at the very end past the A frame hut do you find anything even half challenging but its a good drive espically in Winter but stay on the formed tracks to keep DOC happy.

Ive only got 2 pic's of it on my work pc.

You can also head up the windfarm from either Piahatua track or Ballance bridge end, again its a pretty tame drive but ok if you havent been there before and you can find some good play area's in there if you look hard enough.

Costa Plenty is also close enough, but you are better off joining a club to then get into areas that are normally locked etc

thanks haydqd might check them out :) have been told lots about costa plenty might check that out sometime soon

Yea and winter on its way so Takapari will be snowed under soon :D
