Keep an eye out for a 2.5 motor too, they fit right in, a bit more pep than the 2L if that's what you have now.

Good luck!

I might have a 2.5 block with a couple of bent rods in it if your interested. You can even hear it running. Supposedly the 2.0 use the same rods so it could be a case of swapping some parts. I probably will need the injectors for it. PM me if your keen.

dont know about the loom but I highly doubt that the 2.0L ECU will work with the 2.5.

Still I have been wrong before (sometimes frequently)

Supposedly bolt in and use the 2.5 injectors. Google it, its been done a few times.

How much for the motor?

ok so got the new h25 motor today and sat it on the ground by the truck that we got, was looking for diffrances in the to as got told i needed to change the IAC. I could not find any diffrances.

the id tag on fire wall says it is a h20 but having a better look at the motor in the truck it is a h25. now the problem i have is that all the motor looks factory as a h25 should but if it ever was a h20 in there the h25 should have some parts from the h20.
(hope this makes sence)

is it posable that they cocked up at factory and put the wrong id plate on.

is there any other difrances between the 2l and the 2.5l trucks that arnt to do do with the motor that i can compare.

What year is the car ? Is it the square or round shape ? Why are you panicking ? It sounds like the motors are identical by the sound of it. Why aren't you bolting in the new one and turning the key ? Did I miss something along the way ? Is the new motor the damaged one mentioned above ?

Cheers

that is what we r going to try. there is a dif between the two and the new bigger motor should not work without changing some bits. acourding to the ausi site that someone gave me the link for.

A factory 2.5 vitara should have the vacuum driven free wheel hubs. There should be a little pump situated on the drivers side of the strut brace and a tube going into the bottom of your front diff. They usually have ABS and airbags as well.
Chassis number should be T*61 for a 2.5. Mines a Mazda badged one so the Chassis number is TJ61W
I think the key things to use from the existing engine are the injectors and MAP sensor. I would basically just change the block, this is assuming the existing 2.5 ran correctly in the first place.

http://www.suzuki-forums.com/suzuki-sidekick-escudo-vitara-geo-tracker/29174-h25a-into-97-vitara-2.html

Whats your chassis number and what colour injectors do you have on each engine?

Let me know if you have any spare con rods from the old 2.5.
