Hi Tony,

That's the "small" diff with drum brakes for both hand and foot.
My truck had one of those, but i updated to the "HG 48" rear diff.
I sold the orginal one for $50. The main problem with getting a whole diff off a Terrano, is that the ute has leave springs and the Terrano has coils. The inides can be changed over to your housing or consider a coil conversion. I saw a Navara converted while at Pureora last year.
What part of NZ are you in?
This is what the housing looks like, with the cover plate bolting on from the rear. 4.875:1 ratio, (8/39 teeth)

I can have a hunt around up here if you need it.
Cheers,
Simon.
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

What have you broken? I am in Dunedin and have 2 Nissan C200 diff centres that are surplus to requirements one 4 spider and the other a 2 spider think I have a 4.8 ratio crown wheel as well.

Can open up your diff yourself just drain oil and pull the cover off the back, if you put it on axle stands and rotate the wheels you should be able to determine whether it is the crown wheel and pinion or the spider gears causing the problem (look out for chunks of metal on magnetic drain plug when you pull it out as well).

As long as it isn't the pinion cog (the little one the drives your crown wheel) I can sell you the parts for much less than $500.

The 4 spider diff head is out of a Terrano/Pathfinder and has new bearings on it and I would sell for $200.

The 2 spider diff head is out of the front of an old Nissan Safari/Patrol and I would sell it for $90.

The 4 spider diff would be a stronger however it depends on how much you want to spend, I will also bolt the 4.8 ratio crown wheel to either one of these diff heads for you (may sell crown wheel by itself if that is all you need). Also note that neither of these have an LSD, but then most Terrano diffs don't either and even the Navara LSD's can be hard to track down.

Guess it is to late by now, but usually pays to check the thrust washers in the sides of diff before installing back in the housing. I have pulled two Nissan LSD's to bits and both had stuffed thrust washers - diff will not limit slip as well without them.

Was just talking with a mate the other day about going up the Nevis for a hunting weekend - good country and right on your door step.
