Camp is all setup, a few competitors have arrived. Toilets and showers in.... Stages checked and adjusted as cattle have been hungry... They like yellow bunting better than white.
Film crew arrived and shown the stages.... Had to rescue them as the borrowed 4x4's front hubs (Nissan auto ones) didn't engage.
Will be back again in the morning...Ready to marshal..

Two great days thus far, event going well, competitors happy.
Few broken winches, busted diffs and CV's. The welders have been out in action tonight back at base camp.
No photos sorry, been too busy Marshalling..
I am sure they will surface soon....
Last day tomorrow...

Yeah that was a fantastic weekend big thank you to all who have organized it dont want to get into a big list of names on here but you know who you are.
Also had luck with the weather which would have turned it into a real mud hole if it really came down, tracks would of been more interesting too.

Marshaling was great had heaps of fun, feet are not so happy tho, but all in all I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

Unfourtunetly I did not take any photo's or video :( :( :( but Iam sure some will pop up soon.

Cheers

Had an awesome weekend competing, a few problems which caused us to DNF a couple of stages, which affected our placings. But other than that it was an awesome comp. Thanks to Steve and Tony and all the marshals and track setters that helped out, with out them we couldn't of had the event.
Congratulations to the winners of the classes, and the win for meatc overall.
Big thanks to suzookyman, with out him helping use I don't know what we would do :D Oh and also for being the camera man for the weekend.

Here's some footage he took, I just put a few clips together, more to come.

What a SIK SIK weekend!

Big ups to Steve and Tony for organising one hell of an event, and to all the Nowrwest OHV lads and lasses who volunteered their time and kept the whole thing going all weekend so we could wreck stuff. And wreck stuff we did ..... stink!

Big thanks to all the sponsors who gave stuff that we didnt win, haha, (I did get a Superwinch pen though ..... mint), and to all the crews that turned up to race, (and not get grounded and have to stay home by their missuses :) You know who you are)

A HUGE THANK YOU to Liz Verspagen of Don Kyatt Spare Parts (Terrain Tamer), and Bruce and Nicky Forsyth of Tuff Gear (Tough Dog 4WD Suspension and Messi 4X4), for seeing Ben, Dan and I make it to Superwinch. Without their awesome support we would have had to have stayed home with our missues too haha.

Congrats to Tim and Glen, Dan and Graeme, and Craig and Jon on their Class wins, and to Dan and Graeme for their overall placing! Nice :)

And speaking of nice ..... I might as well hijack the thread here and make mention that Phil from Superwinch in all his wisdom had a promo model for a promotional photo shoot at the event ..... Amy ..... and with the many many photos that were taken of the said model it seemed a waste for Phil to horde them all to himself next to a box of wet wipes ..... SO ..... he has decided to share them with YOU! ..... yes, YOU! ..... in the form of a Superwinch Tuff Truck Winch Challenge calendar! SERIOUSLY!

Say hi to Amy guys .....

Image

Image

The last pic is rumoured to appear in the calendar, which I was able to craftfully "procure" when I dropped by Traxion to pick up my wet wipes.

I cant think of another time when a calendar has been realeased in NZ, by NZ, for NZ with NZ winch challenge trucks in it ..... and Amy of course :)

To pre-order your copy of the Superwinch Tuff Truck Winch Challenge calendar, please contact Phil direct at Phil@Traxion.co.nz. Calendars will only cost $25.00 each! Thats like, only one feed of KFC!

Definately cool to have something you can hang on the wall with home grown Kiwi winch challenge trucks. Would make a great gift for family, friends, sponsors!

(No wet wipes were harmed in the making of this calendar ..... YEAH RIGHT!)

In fact, she was keen as to go for a ride in a winch truck.
So being I was the only one left, i took her for a blast around the pond track.

Track was heaps faster, with no marshals, or pegs to worry about.
She seemed to enjoy it, reckons she will come back for the next winch comp too!!
