Re: air intake
you need a bit of ducting, a hole, a large hose clamp, a bit of sealer and maybe an offcut of tube to make a flange through the firewall so it looks pretty

Re: air intake
if its thru the firewall it may be a wof issue (if the truck is road legal), have you waterproofed all the electrics (plugs etc) as well?

yea got some water proof electronic grease crap and put in plugs etc works good and also did the old glove trick on dizzy
and yea is road legal so ill prob end up making a metal snorkel
what size type of pipe would be best?
Re: air intake
Dude, do some more more research from those that have actually done it and you will see that you don't (edit) have to go through the firewall at all. Do a search for Mr O's (mroffroader) Vitara build from a few years (and about 80 vehicles) ago for starters

Re: air intake
Can't make a tube snorkel at all? Be a bit more work but not a warrant issue and you'd be able to talk in the cabin still with there being no loud intake?
Re: air intake
Out the side, along (inside) the LF panel and in behind the Firewall, into the cab, put it where you want from there, an yes it nosey, but i used to like the sound

Re: air intake
You might be able to pick up a new snorkel for $350 if you look around. As Swamped says, it's road legal and it's the most common method of getting the air intake up away from any water.
Re: air intake
This is the Vitara thread Bubba is talking about,

Re: air intake
That is a cool mod.
I'd have thought that would be sweet for a wof as it doesn't go through the firewall. Would just have to be sure your door seals work.
