BJ41 REAR PARKBRAKE SETUP??

Post by KROOZA »

Hey everyone, first time i have posted anything on here so not sure if im doing this right or not. :?
I have however read a heap of pages of threads on here as a guest over the past few weeks but decided after reading for days that i would sign up and see if any of the very knowledgable people on here could answer a couple of specific questions i have.
First one as the title suggests above, i have recently bought a BJ41 chassis cruiser, it has a full floater diff in the rear and original drum brakes. The tub on it is possibly/probably not the original but has the floor mounted parkbrake, i have never owned a cruiser with the floor mount setup and it is missing all the parts underneath to the rear axle brake setup??
Anybody know what it should look like on rear axle? photos?
It has been an offroad truck the past few years and maybe this has been lost along the way or maybe this rear axle never had parkbrake setup on it? Thanks. :|

Hi These were a similar setup to the later 70 series so If you can have a look under one of those, from there you should be able to sort what parts you are missing

yep like he said, I think it was only the last 1 or 2 years of 40's that they put they floor mounted handbrakes on and they worked on the rear drums rather than the standard carden setup, its all the same as the 60 and 70 setup.
