sure everyones gunna tell ya to balance the wheels replace the steering damper tighten ya wheel bearings but after having 5 or 6 of these ive always ended up doing a swivel kit in em now if the gq does it replace the panhard bushes first

Thanks mate, on the look out for a swivel kit as we speak, apparently.. I have a REALLY RARE CAR.. as was told "there's no such thing as a MK " Don't want to sound like TOO much of a noob (ask your sons, they'll tell you what that means if you're as old as me) but..WTF is are panhard bushes as can't find anything in the gregory's. Don't worry, after enough "percussion persuasion" will pick things up.

mk safari = g160 or 161 patrol i suggested ripco as they do have parts available no panhard on a mk coil sprung wagons only..... for those reading this thread truck is stock no lift but was/is running 33s and up until now was driving nice on road very little offroad use..... the idler box is in the centre of the chassis rail and tend to slop out after couple hundred thousand ks hence lots of grease

Thanks for the offer mate, already got one from ripco, only took them 2 months to source one . Only problem with them is when they show you parts in the book, they're SO FRIGGEN CLEAN!!! Sort of identify some things but without crap all over it, not entirely sure it's the same part Will be changing the steering damper over today so if you're having a bad day, picture Mr Bean under a vehicle with a spanner looking confused and that'll be a good picture of me

Steering damper changed, one that was in it had a lot of bubbling sounds as I pushed it in and out. Beginning to think that mechanics must have tiny slender strong hands and not knuckle dragging ones like mine just to get to some of these things and not leave skin/blood behind
