Your a Suzuki nut when........

Post by DieselBoy »

This could be fun :D

What sorta spares collections do you guys have to keep you trucks running??

It all started tonight when I went on a hunt for some parts to get a truck ready for the weekend, and while trying to get my self excited about an up coming project.

I'm not actually sure what I have and haven't got these days, whats mine, what I'm storing for who, and who's borrowing what thats mine or someone else's I was storing or borrowed. Phew

So heres a bit of window into "some"of the parts collection, all just to keep this running:

Image

Theres the mobile parts truck, the "White LJ". Its all there, 2 stroke motor and all, but minus the heater (anyone got one??) and its RUSTY!!!:
Image
Image
Image
Its got a special "extra" leaver
Image

The50 shares a shed with the "Katikati LJ", its a still running 2 stroke with complete drive line and a almost non-existant body
Image
Image
Image
Its become a bit of a parts rack, It wasn't untill looking at the pic's I spotted windscreen and another complete engine I had forgotten about
Image
Theres an engine on the tray under the other parts
Image

Then theres the "Diff rack LJ", it lives out side and keeps my collection of LJ50 and LJ80 diffs off the ground
Image
It started life like this, and I borrowed bits off it
Image

Then in another shed, shared with the "White LJ" theres the "Good Tub", which is mint apart from the bit thats been hacked out of it buy some m#thr F#CKEN BUTCHERING C#NT  :evil:I don't even want to take a photo of it, it makes me so angry    I can, and will fix it, very very soon to 8) 8)
Image
Image

THen it gets scary, theres the odds and ends that have arrived from the deepest darkest depths of the country on pallets and in box's, and now clutter up my work shop

Theres three LJ50 2stroke engines under here, a couple of carbs, starters, 2 new water pumps, a complete gasket set and some other stuff
Image
The beside it is a wooden packing crate with stuff in it. Lots of stuff in it. I can't remember exactly how much stuff is in it, but its 100% full of LJ50 parts. From what I remember and what I can see in the pic's, there is another two engines, at least 3 gearbox's I can see, cv's, axles, drive shafts, heaps of cool small shit :D :D
Image
Same crate from a different angle.
Image

THeres heaps more, scattered around, for example, the mint radiator hiding on the shelf
Image

The transfercase lurking under the "Katikati LJ"
Image

And another T.Case lurking in the grass (I hope there's something wrong with it, else it shouldn't be lying in the grass  )
Image

So yeah, I have collected a few parts to keep one going.

The main reason for the mad 2stroke collecting, has been that even from quite early on in the piece it was popular to bin the LJ50 2stroke for a Datsun 1200, or Toyota 3k, so the large majority of the 2stroke power (hahahahahah) plants have long disappeared.

I have enough to keep at least one running.

Infact, I have just sourced some NEW engine internals for the next project

Despite everything in my collection, for the new project I am short of two things:

An LJ50 front panel with the front corner lights still in place, and a heater box for the cab.

If you know of any wrecks rotting in someones shed, let me know!!!!

What sorta mad collections have you guys got??

hard to come by now aye. Theres a whole suzuki fronte sitting in my grandads shed its a 360cc 2 stroke sports edition coupe, it needs a new motor though i think, but its fairly tidy and been garaged most of its life, let me know if you may be keen on it.
Sorry for the thread jack Pete
