g13B.......G16A QUESTION

Hey Guys, just put the 8v carb Vitara in the Samurai but want to know if the carb off my old motor will fit on the G16a.It's just that I know the carb on my old motor is a goodin and I don't know the history of this one.Any help much appreciated

I used the carb and the manifold. Worked fine and bolted straight up. I spose it could have used a bit more fuel but it ran fine and plugs weren't showing too lean. I never thrashed it but it may have leaned out up top if I'd driven it hard.

G13b is the DOHC motor

I'd say the G13a Carb won't be jetted properly for the 1600, better to get the 1600 carb re-built IMHO

g13b is just the block code. Both my B's are sohc. :evil: :evil: Oh to be twin cam.

My thoughts were the same as to rejetting. Watching the plugs showed they weren't white from being lean so I left it. Went fine till it did a head gasket.

Yes, you could use the 1300 carb, but ti will definately be better with the 1600 carb. Just get the 1600 one cleaned, it'll only cost you a box if you take it to Kev's carby cleaning services :lol:
Oh, the G13b SOHC is usually termed G13ba to avoid confusion :wink:

They can be stamped both B and BA and be sohc.
Own a few more and you will see.

Maybe we need to clarify which he has and go from there :lol: :lol:

Kev's carb cleaning services have gone up, its now two boxes of beer :lol: I guess we will see you Friday as usual Al.
Comp rig: Suzuki Vitara, L67 Supercharged V6 Commie and auto, Prado chassis and diffs. Gigglepin 8274 twin motor rear mounted winch, air free spools, 35" Silverstones, ect
