I dont want to sound like I'm giving a dumb answer but most lux's are probably on 15x8's so about 2 inches further out than the average hilux wheel

i didnt think of it that way
maybe someone has some pics of an 8'' wheel and 10'' to compare, i dont know the backspacing of each ethier
maybe that might affect how they sit too?

nice
if they are going to sit out anymore than 50mm i might have to think about what tyre and rim size im going to use
i know the original split rims sat way too far under the truck

you would probably be better off with a 15x8 if your going to run a 33 tyre just run the biggest offset you can?

this is the best i can do,these are 35x12.5 on 15x10 -70,from memory theyre about 2-3" max out from guard so im pretty sure youd find yours will be under or on 2" which is pretty normal

be wary of puttin wide rims with your chosen tyre option.. too wider rim choice could lead to easy loss of beading when out peddalin.. what tyres you doin?

also, how far they stick out is totally dependant on your offset.

stay with the 8 inch rim and you'll get extra pressure of your tyre beading onto the rims with perhaps a little extra height for nothin too..

hankooks r33s look like a good option at the moment.
its not going to be a full on tuff truck so debeading wont be a problem
i dont want it wollow all over the road with an 8inch rim and wide tyre
so basically a shiny thats looks cool (w@#k factor comes to mind)

I wouldn't worry about the road handling. I had 15x8 -24 offset with 33" Bighorns on a Surf and drove the doors off that thing on the road. This gave a nice wide stance with the tread being covered by 50mm rubber flares. I dont' think there is much to gain with with 10 inch rims apart from weight (ever picked up a 15x10 steely? they are monsters).
