Fuel economy from Grand cherokee laredo

I've just had a read of this thread and I could be keen to get something like this for my next truck. I've done a bit of research and found this Long arm kit:

You could probably land it here for $2500. I can't get over how cheap it is to get parts from America for these vehicles. There's no way I could make something like that for that little money (if you include labour).

That fuel economy is good for a petrol 4x4. My V6 Vitara gets the same mileage...

I'm keen to see how you go with it.

yes parts at the moment from America are good, just ordered a new set of CV's for $123 NZ landed for the front of my ZJ, some retailers want astronomical prices for freight so watch out there

Thats cheap. My wife's in the freight business so I have an idea of what the shipping should cost as opposed to what some of them want to charge.

Interestingly enough most of the suppliers will do better rates than what she can get, especially from China.

still trying to find some headlights, proving alot harder than i thought, 1 of my lenses just fell off one day..cant find to many around for sale

perhaps we should buy a wreck between us... axles, driveshafts, headlights, transfer case could all be utilised and the donk and trans tucked away for a rainy day. Then theres the radiator, heater core and door electrics that will no doubt come in handy one day.

The Jeep is still a future plan, my wife's got a bun in the oven so need to sort a few things out first. I was actually looking at getting a WJ V8, I don't know how many parts are compatible between them, anyway I don't have any storage space where I am.

Well, they don't come up often and there is that de registered one on trademe for $1500 lol.

That is pretty good fuel economy, the Falcons excell on the highway, my XR6 ute manages 8-8.5 at 100kmh on our twisting hilly roads, (akl-wgtn). I never bettered 10.5 in my old XJ on the highway. It is still pretty good for a petrol 6 4x4 anyway, you'll never get those figures from a V8 disco or V6 Pajero.

I managed to source the exact same headlights out of the states for $135 NZ for the pair, as they are symetrical it should not be a problem here in NZ , ordered CV joints and transmission solenoids at the same time, with the U.S dollar being so weak its a great economy to buy in
