Damaged head gasket / head, wanting information, in chch.

Yesterday I found out that my head or head gasket is most likely stuffed (was running fine, pulled into super cheap autos (of all places), started it up again, and it billowed out lots of sweet smelling white smoke / steam out the exhaust). Checked asmorning with the radiator cap off, and is there is air bubbles in the radiator, and is being pressurized. The vehicle is a 1992, 2.5 turbo diesel intercooled. What I am wanting to know is what sort of price should I be looking to pay to get it fixed (assuming its a cracked head), and if anyone can recommend somewhere in Christchurch that can do them that would be great aswell. Only dealt with Ian Scobies before, but am uncertain if they carry out engine repairs like that (will be ringing in the morning). If anyone has some recomendations that would be greatly appreciated, as well as general things to be wary of when getting a head done.
