I got mine from Kmart of all places goes fine. At its price I thought I may be replacing it after a year but still going strong.

I have seen one of these just depends on how clean you want it

Good may be redefined tho  but you can buy 3 for the price of a better unit and they have a warranty.

At $90 thats almost too good to be true, but I assume the pressure isnt as good as the more expensive Karcher units...

I bought a cheapy from of all places woolworths about a year ago for $120, and yes, it's hasn't got the grunt of the bigger blasters like we have at work, it does get all of the heavy crap off, but it does leave a "haze" of dirt that you need to wash off normally (ie, soap and water and a brush) when you're done blasting...

I use a good quality one at work, and even with the soap on, I still need to use the brush/sponge method to get it cleaned properly

I have found that you also need to look at the water output. There is a big difference between blasters with high pressure with lower water output, and ones with lower pressure, but higher water.
I prefer the latter.

I own one like this:

KARCHER WATERBLASTER, K498MD
6.5 Litres per minute. Dirtblaster attachment. 6 Metre hose. 1740 psi (max 1885 psi). 24 Month Guarantee.

$498.00 incl GST

Unfortunately it's in england... is great though, gets rid of tough stuck in Clay and blows off all the mud no problem, just dont get it too close or it takes the paint with it...

You can always do a river crossing or two, that gets quite a bit off  In an eco friendly way of course

I use the Waterblaster to get the big stuff off and under the 4x4 and the soap and bucket that way you can see all your new dings up close.

Does anyone know if you can get 90 degree nozzles for these cheap waterblasters?
I have been looking too. The 90 degree nozzle and lance alone for a Karcher costs more than this $90 waterblaster.

I ended up buying an Alto blaster from Mitre 10 Mega. Decided to go for a reasonably priced one and give the cheapies a miss.
Tossed up between the Karcher and Alto. Alto won because the accesoires are cheaper by far. Got a 90 degree fitting for $49.00 which in the Karcher range cost $150.00.
Also the Alto is on wheels while most of the Karcher's in the same price range were just sitting on the ground.
Blasted half the back yard last weekend. What a blast :D
Yet to try it on the truck.

comig from an ex hosedocter (me)
if you want your water blaster hose to last longer tie the on/off lever on with a zip tie
the jolting of on/off on/off is what cains your hose
and on a $90 waterblaster you may aswell get a new blaster cos the hose will cost more than that to replace

Funny you should say that Steve, washed my truck today after yesterdays efforts up Thompsons, came home mrs says "you got another dent yesterday"but no just washed it with a brush and it shows every imperfection.2nd time a brush has made contact in about 2-3 months.

The Alto or the Karcher are both good machines,we run Alto for hire at work and in the hire industry it must be tough and a good performer.

Even after 3000psi and 120 degrees of hot water a brush is still required to get rid of the dirt mark on paintwork. Its also a great way to remove paint of plastic and stickers of glass.

Hey safari mulisha who did youuse to hose doctor for?.

Dixie, sunday arvos we could hire some bikini clad lasses and have them on the wash bay at work, one with the high pressure hose, one applying the cleaning agent and one blasting it off..........

Of course as far as our respective better halves are concerned we would be making bars or fixing springs/fuel tanks/panels etc...

It would save you fullas some money.
