You'll never guess why the engine wouldn't go back in and how long it took me to find it

Two dowel pins aren't better than one   , at least not in the same position (one in block, one in bellhousing)

I was looking for 1.5 mins :D

Did a wee recovery this morning that got me out of the house.
Still have the right hand CV shaft to fit.

Cheers,

Dont be so modest  was more like 30seconds

Oh well at least it was found sooner than later and motor is pretty much installed now

Cheers

You're still wanting to drive that thing :?: :?:

My mate came round today with his new Gt-t Caldina - so all in all, a pretty Toyota-filled weekend for me

made a drop down hitch for my new towbar, best of both worlds, low profile for offroad and low enough to tow a car trailer, will be trying it out during the week to see if its up to the task before doing a w.e of towing to taupo

Had a blast on some forest tracks with some great guys....

Put a bonnet scoop on the Disco and wished I had done it earlier. Reduced temps by 6 degrees up my long local hill and didn't need to put on the extra fans on when having a blast offroad.....

Bit late posting...

Solid day had at woodhill:

Tripled the number of dents, busted the power steering, lost all the camber shims on one side. Worst of all, damaged what sounds like a big end...

Time for a new engine I guess.
