hi and Welcome.

I would say a 2 inch would be fine for 30"s and the three inch for the 31"s. also be careful with calmini as there struts are prone to failure. Have a looksee at this topic here: http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/Forums/ ... 23&t=25955

Apparently the calmini kit isn't that great. Struts and rear shocks are crap and the springs don't give a soft ride. I have read this off another site, but it has been said by a few people now. I reckon you should look at EFS. They have quite a good name in N.Z. :D

I have also heard mixed reviews of the calmini struts - one of the local club members took his new 3" kit on on trip and the struts fell apart.

There is the relatively simple option spelt out in the Cheap Vitara Lift thread in the Suzuki board here. I have recently taken that and upped it to 3", along with 2 1/2" body lift for 31" tyres. And some other changes.

There is a set of OME springs on trade me at the moment, $400 from memory. A matching set of new OME shocks is about $800 or so. Plus a few other parts ( diff spacer) - how does that compare to the calmini 2" set up?

I would also encourage having a go at doing it yourself, unless you are a complete mechanical retard or a complete lack of tools. It helps you understand what you are doing with the vehicle.

Just springs and shocks will balls up the camber and cv angle in the front. You will want some camber adjust bolts and check to see how much worse the cv angle is after fitting, could consider changing front diff height later down the track.
