Akas trip 23/24 July

Nice and wet now, about time we looked at a trip though some of the tougher tracks in the akas. A two day trip, camp at rallywoods means those that cant do saturday could still do sunday. Whose keen? Dates???

Some of us have trucks that got a little beaten at the Kiwi and wont be able to make this trip. so i will bring the shinny :D

Not many weekends till taihape trip, do we go before or after taihape? Suppose it depends when rallywoods is available.

After would be nicer as there are a few trips that people are going on... will check dates for Rallywoods and post up....
Looks like it's book until 23 July or 30 July.... so any time after then would be gooder...

I vote for after taihape, thatll give me time to get essentials like cert, winch rope/winch working, cooling issues an testing sorted :lol:

Yeah after taihape would be better. Should book next available weekend. Anyone interested in doing something a little more adventurous than a gravel road???

Open to suggestions but along the lines of deep sticky mud holes, long greasy rutted out overgrown goat tracks, steep slippery rock faces......that sort of thing :D

if we get enough people like last years epic 30 odd truck trip

we could split into 3 groups and do shiny with skid, where you will get muddy, bush scratched and possibly stuck :shock:

then a harder trip, but not too hard like the ruts etc

and an insane idiot trip where you will be winching through bogs up hills and emptying your supply of paslode nails into your sheer pin location :lol:
