Suzuki diff question
Suzuki diff question
does anyone know if the 1600cc LWB and SWB front diffs are the same?
Re: Suzuki diff question
I am not sure exactly but I always thought that the only different diffs were in the auto and manuals and in the v6's. LWB to SWB I thought were the same. I could be wrong though, sure to be corrected.

Re: Suzuki diff question
physically the same yes . Ratio's well from all the ones I have come across swb are 5.12's unless you have a carb'ed auto then it will have 4.62's .
There is debate that some swb 8v efi auto's had 4.62's as well . The 16v swb and lwb are all seem to be 5.12's manual or auto .

Re: Suzuki diff question
I think the front diff changed to 26 spline in 1994 but supposedly only the side gears changed. Originally they were 22 spline.
Re: Suzuki diff question
Rotazuk and Churchill are correct.
The early 3Dr 8V (both carburetted and single-point EFi) autos were 4.625 diffs.
All 5Drs are 16V so are all 5.125, same as the 3Dr manuals and 16V 3Dr autos.
As far as I'm aware, very few early 3Drs had the 22-spline fronts. I have a 1989 8V EFi auto which was 4.625 diffs with 26 spline axles.
