NEW SHAPE HILUX VERY HIGH SPEC

Post by Storm »

OK, so Im hopless at figuring out how to load pictures haha, just for the Toyota fans here. The customer of the "Black Beast" as it got called here is a member on here (sorry, don't know his user name but sure he will jump on and say hi when he sees this) Its the brand new Hilux, built him the rock & tree sliders, front guards, rear bumper/tow-bar etc. Looked real nice the other week but probably full of mud by now, very cool all the same :) Click on the pictures for a full screen view...

So that is an airbag compliant Bull bar you have made? How did you get it tested and through the lvvt?

You cannot attach solid sidebars to an airbag vehicle, it needs some ability to slip, ie a small tube inside a larger one. Mind you those square corners might just bend back anyway.

Having seen airbags go off off road on a 185 surf, you want them to work as designed.

Storm, they should be ok, ARB are designed also to release when a frontal happens.... but no sliding bar inside bar design... also ARB side steps are now fully SRS compliant, however to get that they had to crash test 2 4x4s from the side, have you crash tested your ones to get the compliance?

Hey cheers for that, on this particular vehicle I cannot comment on specifications etc sorry as most if not all the work is what we class as customer confidential specification.

Dace: As for posting a "video" thats just way too funny, like, lets share all our R&D with the whole world lmao

What does the above statement mean?????
as I read it , your offering a Air bag compliant bullbar and side bar package, but your not willing to back it up with documentation and or examples of work.

I'd be checking with my insurer as to, weather my vechile would be covered with one of these bars

my 2c
LR110 ..... LJ50 project

UBZ, its not that hard to comprehend. The specs for this particular vehicle are customer sensitive... Read the post again, the bar is ARB not one of ours ;) Our work is however compliant to the relevant standard and is stamped accordingly where applicable.

I was only showing what "some" members may like to see here, its not a mud slinging match so lets keep it relevant. Read the post for what it states. Don't like it, move on...........................

mate im not slagging your product, just making sure everyone including yourself were aware that revlent testing and documention is required for your statement that the side bars are SRS compliant. it took ARB with all their resoucre and money over 6 months to get to where they are now with their SRS compliant steel side rails...

just offering a legal stand point, if you cannot adequalety prove to LTSA (or whatever accorym they use these days) you have fully tested your side bars, including a crash test ( as mentioned earlier that ARB recently did) and there is a fatality involving a 4x4 and your bar work, i wouldnt want to answer the door when people start knocking.....

and trust me, as soon as the VId becomes avaiable i will post it :)
