Are the pajero's known to brake cv's is there stronger cv's that you can get?
Re: Front diff
Another problem with welding the front diff is the loss of steering. The wheel gets hard to turn and when you do get it around the vehicle wants to go straight. I could see it causing problems in tight areas. You get get a chinese air locker for the front for around $750.

dont weld it, you will not be able to steer, and if you hit tar seal you will not turn the steering wheel, go up a hill offroad with no ruts it will turn around on the face of the hill and roll if steeo enough, buy a locker !!!!

Re: Front diff
With the front locker in on my pajero, I can't even turn the steering wheel unless I've got a bit of movement on, and I certainly can't go round corners.
