Why?

Got one on my Safari about 6months old now, brand new out of the box first time I plug in the remote and it falls into the control/solenoid box, the new remote is gay, plug on the winch for the remote is weak feels like its about to break/fall in when hooking up the remote, free spool leaver seized up, took a bit to free it up, also looks cheap compared to the free spool lever on the EP series, just little basic things but I think they have gone backwards in some areas. Comparing the EP I had on my Surf and the Talon on the Safari the Ep was a much better winch.

I was really impressed with the epi9 only thing wrong was the sticker fell off they used better glue this time tho, I had it dunked in mud all the time never had anything seize up , the talon only really had rain water on it.

Only minor stuff but I wasn't impressed having to open it up before it made it out of the box and after very little work.

Also if you are putting an incab switch in the wiring is different, in and out has power all the time and the earth is the switch.

Cheers for that info, altho i may just use the solenoid pack thats already in my truck I'm using a T-max one with the big hand held radio remote (have it wired up to incab switch already). I figure if its working for my why change it :?

What size Talon did you get? I've got the 12.5, be interesting comparing it to the epi 9.

Bump,

Will build a basic custom winch bar cheap, $2000 for a new winch and winch bar a winch bar would cost $1000+ to buy on its own.
