Help need at murawai ASAP!

Post by Hug-o »

Friend of mine dan teboon had a sand ledge fall away on him.

Truck rolled into the tide but were waiting for the tide to go out.

We will prob need a few extra trucks if anyone is in the area.

Its about 1.2km north rimers road.

Bring spades and winchs if you can get out here.

My number is 02102470477 (feel free to txt me if you want pixs for a lol)

Cheers hugo.

Dang...
Dead Low tide is 630 tonight.
I take it they were trying to get down the beach on high tide???

Got to put up some photo's.
Would come and help but my toy is parked up till I finish the winch install.

Hope it all gets sorted before the next tide.

Man that sucks, lucky everyone was alright, bugger we didn't go up the beach instead of going on the unformed roads.

Also where were you guys for it to fall down a sand bank?

There was a sand bank about 2m high that we were driving along and the water was eating away at it real quick. I went first got to the thinnest point and dropped my right rear wheel off the edge and managed to pull out of it i couldnt signal to Tboon quick enough by the time id made it to safty we all turned around and saw boon rolling off the bank into the water.

The truck wasnt that bad at first but after 3hr in the water it had rolled over a few times.

I think boons lady friend in the passanger seat broke her nail?? Only casualty! Aha

Intresting day!!

That sucks, man thats the worse thing with Murawai. I have learnt through clubs I have been in to never drive near full tide at Murawai.

will be interesting to see if the insurance will pay out or not.

Tow truck reckons they will because the beach is considered a state highway.

The tide had been exceptionally big and strong up there lately...

I've done many a mad dash up the beach against the dune with the tide lapping at the wheels

Hope everything works out for him

Exactly why an incoming tide gives me the shivers.

Have to ask though, why if the tide was so far in didn't you guys get off the beach up further at Wilsons Road?

yeah that ledge is dodgy as,ive never used it because this is what I was worried would happen, ive always just sat it out or used wilsons.ive certainly been caught out a few times driving just in front of it and had the back end sucked out by the waves but that's a bloody high tide, waves usually lap the ledge not go right over it .hoet the tide didn't suck to much of your gear out either mate .

Yeah, yesterday was an interesting day, not one that i want to go through again though. Never under estimate mother nature.

Also a big thanks to the two guys with winches that stopped to give a hand and get her back on her wheels. deff owe you some beers!

At the end of the day, no-one was seriously hurt and we managed to recover it, could have been a lot worse.

I have been thinking about changing it, but it survived, it does the job and id rather put the money that could be spent on replacing it into other areas.
