Finished the rear bar for my lux, well apart from paint but I'll pull the sliders i made a couple of weeks ago off and paint the whole lot at once.

Had to change the exhaust to clear the sliders, so now it exits here

The outer edge of the tube is 200mm from the seam, there basically in line with my flares.

Looking nice there Mark, you just wanted to post a pick to show off those bead locks again

Yea my sliders are the same width as my flares aswell but ive got the rubber flexi flare's, they are wide enough to deflect any trees etc but if the tree was on a lean with a funky knot sticking out then bye bye door for me haha

thats the thing, all very well if what you hit is vertical, but if its on a lean then the sliders wont work.. mine arent that wide, I may bring them out another 50mm

Iv'e said it before (lots fo times infact) side bars are the most important body protection you can add. When my pig is going, I lean on the side bars all the time, and making then too narrow is just false econonmy imo.

How long has the exhaust been exiting out there LOLYF? (looks like a farkin good idea     )

x2 on that. Mine stick out just shy of how far the wheels sit and with a good offset its kept pretty much everything away. Saved my sills so often when you use em to help get you round a tight turn in rocks  They only look stupid if they are made like shit ie if anyone has seen mine haha but you definitely need em spaced out. I like the box right under the seam too, mine catches heaps of little rubbish like sticks under there cos they're not in the right place.

You'd just want to watch picking stuff up between the wheels and barwork.

well had an awesome day at the pig farm today. photos tomorrow, I promise. Very glad I had tubes today, popped a bead but once back at the garage all came right. Still need to get the tubes re done though. 3 out of 4 tubes have spun slightly. Nothing broke so a good day. :D

Had to tow brothers Lada out and then wait for 1.5 hours till the tow truck arrived. A few beers later and I feel much better. :D However my Suzuki is so inadequate

Half Norwest, half ORE run
Blew reverse apart within the first hour, then walked and helped recover for the rest of the day.
Got some footage. Enjoy

Moral of the story, don't use high range when stuck in a hole :(
At a cross roads with the Terrano.

haha I remember doing that pig farm a few years back in my "Bush Maori" 1990 LWB V6 Pajero with only mud tyres I managed to get through most of it which was suprising haha but I bet its changed a bit now though. I nearly drowned it a few times but it just kept going.

Well my weekend was spend away for a weekend at the inlaws helped my father n law add a cross member to their boat trailer (its huge and can take upto a 10t boat) so now it can take all 3 boats (30ft, 32ft and 34ft) and went fishing and diving got a couple of crays and some snapper :)

Took the challenger away and it was all good but I think the wife needs to learn how to drive a diesel she was driving it like a petrol and it used more diesel ($ wise) than out old WRX.

Ended up getting back late so didnt have time to do anything on the bighorn but in return for helping with the boat trailer that my father n law will give me a hand with a front bumper and winch mount for the bighorn.

But I'm really beginning to hate the previous owner of the Lada for not maintaining it.

Probably would have worked. It was running fine (with a stretchy tie/bungee cord acting as an accelerator return spring) when I went to the carpark. But an hour or so later it was dead. As a dodo. I knew I needed that Vodka for something...

And thats the moral of the story.

Not really that gutted about it, thought I would be a bit more, but end up getting a way better condition truck for cheap. and everything will swap over.

And at the end of the day it did its job of not folding in half and exploding as it is a lifted 4x4 after all.

Yup, many times been sitting at the top end of the beach watching those waves crashing and thought about trying it but in the end, would much rather wait.

Not to say my cruiser hasnt got its feet wet before

You got off pretty well considering the amount of wrecks on the beach, there would be literally thousands underneath the sand the entire length of that beach
