You'd be getting close to a KZJ78 Prado for that amount.

personally if i had an engine crack a cyl head I would rebuild the whole thing, getting an engine hot can do funny things to the seemingly unaffected parts. and at the end of the day a hone and new rings and bearings are pretty cheap..

But the 5MGE powered on oh yeah! Now your talking..

I know of a turbo kit for one of those somewhere..

I got one email back from him. then nothing to my next. I was quite keen on it.
Sounded like a good wagon, the only thing that I wasn't sure on was the fact it had an earlier gearbox fitted (W56 I think) so the ADD stuff must have been removed. And the centre console was a bit homemade too.

Hey mate, I just brought a 98 Pajero (face lift model), but will have to sell shortly as the missus has definately decided that she doesn't want a Manual.

NZ new, rear air locker, tidy, and had the injector pump done. will list it 6 ish. 231,000 kms.

Finally got hold of the owner with the surf with a 5mge fitted, going to have a look today, should be interesting, or should i still look at a 2.8 diesel with turbo kit ?

I don't/didn't find my 5m too thirsty to run, but you do need revs to get power.
Be certain that the front diff works in 4wd, as he has an earlier gearbox it would be interesting to know how he has got around the ADD

Perfect base for a good truck. Right engine, right chassis.
Cheers,
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!
