Cheers,
Oooo that didnt sound good, and shit you were almost out! What do you think made it give way? is it just due to the weaknesses of the terrano boxes or just unlucky? And alot of thrashing lol.
Re: Terranosaurus Obituary
Went into the hole in low range then used high to spin the wheels a bit. It is a weakness too. Talked to TD Power today, he reckons I have punched the reverse shaft out the front of the bell housing like he has done a number of times.
As posted, I have a new donor and a "bullet proof" box. Will be fitting the box into new truck with my custom clutch assembly

Re: Terranosaurus Obituary
Hmm must be that time of the month for terranos as my Gbox lunched itself in the weekend too, damn things!
Please elaborate on the "bulletproof" box, im keen for some ideas, otherwise I'm going to re-enginer the old box and make it tough!

Looks too shiney but it wont stay that way for long.
Anyway if you need a hand I am glad to help, to make the transession faster.

high quality needle bearings throughout.
I did the box in may terrano twice in 18mths. First time it spat the main shaft bearing through the bell housing and second tinme snapped fifth off the layshaft. The guy who rebuilt it second time round put needle bearings through it and it was better than ever and still going strong 150,000ks later (first blew at 120 and second time at 150. I was never that nice to it, towed heavy stuff 4wding etcetc
Toy - Zuk chassis tub, hilux 4.88 axles and transfer, Nissan CA18DE motor and auto trans, sc12 supercharger, 32 10'5 simex, twin motor 8274 custom freespool. Well the parts are all there in various corners of the shed
Re: Terranosaurus Obituary
yeah that will do it. Needle rollers work well

After thinking about it, a different truck would be good, but I have been spoilt with a cheap never ending supply of spares, so this is what I have got.
And a good HEAVY DUTY gearbox as well.
Now to swap the goodies over![]()
Cheers,
Where did you find this Terrano Simon?? it's a minter

Bad news
Went to pick up that donor, SOLD.
Two of us had hit "buy now" and the other fulla picked it up the day before........BUGGER!
Now I'm back to square one.
There is one in CH CH but I think he wants too much for it.
Back to the drawing board.
Anyone know of anything that would suit?
Cheers,

He was pretty genuine. Let us look through his E-mails to get a handle on the situ. He thought the other guy was me. I rang the purchaser and offered him another couple of hundy but he declinded.
I even took uwisho with me to drive my ute home.
To say I was pissed off would be an under statement

Time will tell.

If its not what your after i wish ya all the best for your search mate
Cheers Kurt

Re: Terranosaurus Obituary
Good news......and bad
Have purchased new donor. That's the good news.
It's in Welly, with a extremely noisy gearbox.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a cheep transporter company that won't cost the price of the truck again to get it to Auckland?
Any help would be much appreciated.
