mates safari only runs if you keep priming the filter pump, if you stop priming the motor stops, would if just need injectors cracked and bleed or would it be something else?
Cheers

Re: 4.2 safari only runs if you keep priming
Has anyone been "playing" with the injection pump?
I'm thinking either a air/fuel leak between filter and pump or the injection pump needs some professional attention.
I had the same symtom once on a Toyota/Yamaha 1HDT, turned out to be the apprentice mucked up when fitting the pump back to it and didn't use the banjo bolt marked "out" on the fuel bleed return
Cheers,

Re: 4.2 safari only runs if you keep priming
sounds like a split fuel line and pump is sucking air in some were. most likly between the filter and pump
Also check hose clamps.
Or could be the pump seals are farked

Do the nissans have a guaze filter in the inlet banjo fitting to the lift pump? Could be full of shite an reducing fuel flow
Didn't barbie drive a jeep??
Re: 4.2 safari only runs if you keep priming
Ok sweet as guys, Na Im 99% sure no one would of touched injector pump, so yeah I'd be saying a split in the hose or as said check the clamps. I'll go have a look tomorrow thanks for giving me an idea what to look for.
And im unsure of the gauze filter, i know there is one somewhere on the injector pump itself(well atleast on the td27s?)
Thanks

if you take the banjo bolt out of the fuel line at the pump there's a spring. pull it out and down the bottom theres a filter. very carefully take it out. Banjo bolt is at the front of pump on the motor side. its a 14mm i think
just did that to mine and it was chokker full of crap. gave it a bloody good clean then stuck it back in.
