i require a lifted truck to get work done on the farm.
we dont have quads because they cant go the same places as the 4x4s..
we also require a wof to be able to walk our stock on a public rd.so now we will need to certify 3 trucks, and join a club just so we can walk our stock 3 km???

sorry,but thats just a F###G joke..

sure i wouldnt mind too much for my own truck, but come on..

we wont get a cert untill we are forced to..its a huge cost to us to take our vehicles over to chch to get a check done, then drive back a couple of weeks later to get the plate put on...waste of money and time...

and how does having a cert make the truck safer???

NZFWDA did not promote the tightening of the rules, we simply informed our members of what was happening, and we arranged an exemption for our members. What is wrong with that???
if your truck is lifted less that 100 mm it is unlikely to require a Authority card. if it is currently lifted 100mm that's probably because it has lager tires in which case it should already have a cert, so no change

we had to contend with river crossings, mud, rocks and towing shit through all of them..
we use suzukis,so yeah, they need to be lifted for this work we do, they use a fairly small tyre so we can actually turn them.

i cant see the reason for having to have an authority card for me to legally do my job,on top of all the other compliance costs we face..bloody pen pushers ruining another past time/work.

guess ill just be forced to have illegal vehicles, cos i sure as hell am not joing a club or going to chch just to get a cert just so i can do my job which is a 365 day a year job,not a 1 day a week hobby...

i just get really p-----d off at all the extra costs we get in our industry by pen pushers..
it would be nice if we (the farmers) could control the price of milk so that we can cover these compliance costs that keep getting thrown at us..

So you have a Suzuki with small tyres and more than 100mm of lift
Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me, and the whole reason we have cert laws. How does a vehicle like that get a WOF now?

Yea half the people on here are fully jumping the gun, my hilux runs standard height coils and a 40mm body lift with 35 inch simexs and its plenty high enough and the tyres dont rub anywere.

Cant people read the LESS than 100mm part.????????????????????????????????????????????? :roll:a Suzuki with 100mm or more lift would roll over when going up a driveway.

Yea they are big enough but still tiny tyres so whats your point and why are you ranting about the lifts and certs when clearly you wont even be affected by it.??????????

no.... you have always required a cert to drive your modified truck on the road legaly or to get a wof so whats changed?

come clean and stop breaking the law, get it certified "now" and none of these proposals or law changes will have any affect on ya, moaning about it isnt going to help you

You need a cert for a bodylift, regardless of the size.......

So your farm hack will be running over 4" lift? If not, you should NOT need an authority card.
Nothing else has changed, if you need to get a cert, the rules are the same.

and a cert doesnt make it safer, it just proves the modifications are already made are to a safe standard,

finally if you dont like the laws put a small proposal together and send it to tony  otherwise stop complaining.

Hi all, as promised i have checked the updates for suspension lifts etc
This is how it stands legally at the moment.
Any suspension lift other than OE must have low volume cert.
Any body lift other than OE must have low volume cert.

Thems the rules as full of red tape and politics as it is thats how it is

What happens when these guys have to replace a vehcile? Do the new rules apply? or can they carry existing cert across?

lots of farmers down here will also be affected as they run the suzuki farm worker trucks which to run 30's do require 4in or more lift as they come with 165/13s. again when they replace or get one for the first time the new dumbass rules will affect them

can farmers use angle grinders?
cut them guards a bit, and reduse the lift to 3" 7/8
just under 4" lift
no aurthority card needed, just a cert which is always the case

or bin the suzukis and do it like crumpy did it

yeah but the point is mate, whineing to everyone on here is about as effective as whineing to your yard full of cows

get onto you MP, federated farmers, the prime minister, the minister of transport, your city council, LTSA, Gay Rights, RSPCA and anyone else you can think of that can lobby on your behalf and effect some change to recognise and meet your needs

3 certs, fuel to and from chch for 3 vehicles...

we rang federated farmers today and a certifier i know quite well..weighed up our options, and have just (in the last hour)decided to deregister 2 of them, keep them farm only and one will be put back to standard form for road use...its just not worth the extra expense when we will most likely replace them next season anyway(usually send them to the wreckers)...no one buys 4x4s that have been used on farms...

id love to do it like crumpy....a nice oldschool hilux would be ideal

I'm surprised you didn't offer to put him on to your own contacts in gay rights? Nothing like a bit of the inside running, get in the back door and get a head start over the others...
