Here we go again
Exhaust smoke is the best tool for diagnosis.
When it loses power is there any smoke? If not, disregard the above post.
To me you are dealing with lack of fuel supply to the injection pump.
So you have removed the gauze filter in the pump ay?
That may now be the issue or the new(ish) filter is partially blocked. If any crap (even microscopic) gets into the pump it can cause this too.
Forget what you have done in the past and start again.
Think I'm half way to a box of beers
Cheers,
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

No smoke. Well, apart from the stuff coming out my ears as I curse and swear...

And seriously, what muppet would even THINK of removing the gauze filter completely because they damaged it and haven't got round to replacing it yet, and it's only been a few days? (Give or take...)

That's moronic!

*cringe*

I need more bourbon...

The diesel bug is back.

I bloody give up.

Gimme back my petrol vehicles - far less bloody effort!

How about if I just bring a beer over tomorrow after work, and I randomly smack my head into my bull bars while you point and laugh at me?

That's preferable to the grief I am getting from the wife at the moment!

*sigh*
