SOA a Landcruiser
Hey all
I have been searching the forums for info on whats involved in doing a SOA conversion on my 70 series cruiser,
the search has brought up a few things but were just peoples opinion about doing it, can anyone tell me exactly whats involved?
Or is there a Workshop in hamilton that could do it for me? or some one who may be able to do it?
Cheers

Re: SOA a Landcruiser
go for it. It makes a big difference to where they'll go without getting caught up on the springs. And just so ya know my avatar pic was taken before i did the SOA on mine

Hey, I've got a 60 Series rear diff that has the spring perch's cut off and welded on top of the diff housing if your interested?
Had been planning on listing it on trademe for sometime now.

Re: SOA a Landcruiser
not much involved. whip the diffs out, axe the spring perches off or make new ones. weld back in at correct pinion angles and obviously in the right place, will need high steer conversion too.
do a body lift while your at it, extended shackles.. you'll never tip it over!

Re: SOA a Landcruiser
Hmm what condition are your axles in? After being burnt out id imagine all the seals an bushes are all stuffed. These can be very expensive to replace.
Also your patrol rear diff head is centered an the cruiser transfer case is offset to the right (sorry for stating the obvious if ya already know this), if ya use the patrol rear diff itll probably cause bad driveline vibrations
