The work will get done when it gets done. I got a family to feed, clothe and a mortgage to pay. If i was younger I would still have my cj5 with 3 speed toploader and 304 AMC with 33inch rubber, but alas we get older, mature and our priorities change.

Aint lifting it any higher, but the 31's wont hurt. Im not getting mud tyres, but a more aggro AT tyre. I'll be doing alot more on sand up north and cant justify a dedicated mud tyre and the ministry of war and finance wont have me running two sets.

There's a line thats got to be drawn, and what i described in the previous post is it. Anything more than that and i'll have to dream about it.

8) Good call man. If its got the 31's on, thats all that counts. You can have the most aggressive tyres on the market and twin lockers, but if you don't have the ground clearence, you ain't goin no where!!!!!

I'm glad that meets with your approval. (It's so hard to sound sarcastic over this medium, no tone inflections to hear)

Articulation would help, but trying with the cherokee to get some decent twist means more biggish bucks, so once again, i'll have to refer back to the line i've drawn.

That sounds like my surf with the SAT's and auto lockers  Your dam right about the clearance, no clearance has already produced one smashed up ADD unit on my front Diff Grrrrr

Where the bash plate ends, just after that rail that runs cross ways where the IFS arms attach to is a nice big open gap and something has come up from behind and whacked it. Obviously when trying to reverse off something I couldnt get over. Clearance in this instance would have a big help.

Yeah I did as well and it bolted straight up. But now I dont have a spare one so I'll have to be carefull! There have been several occasions where I've been hung up because of lack of clearance and all 4 wheels spinning an inch or two off the ground  I really need to go at least 33" I reckon and to do that I'll need body and suspension lift

I have split this thread and removed the non constructive posts to a new thread in offtopic. This thread is linked from the main page so not a good place to have it out with each other

MNC, sure... what format? MuayThai, modified MuayThai, San Shou, Pancrase, San Da, BJJ, or how about da "street styles" for a bit of mongrel into the mix???? Weapons maybe? Eskrima, Kendo, any Kobudo really....... ratchet v welder, grinder v power hacksaw............

Or we could "kata" it out japanese pimp style.... seinchin, saifa, sanchin, tencho.........

Or we could play by dixies rules, I get stuck, he pulls me out!!!!!! Though im getting sick of that game.

Classic, if what Dixie says is true xj I think you can use muay thai and I`d have to use a shotgun to have any chance

Yip I`ve got a Safari but thats my road & farm wagon - FJ40 is the only way to go offroad

Pissed I missed out on this trip - Callum text me earlier next time! My fault really I should have kept my eyes open on this thread. :(

Looks like an awesome trip hope I can make the next run.

Man I have enough trouble keeping it on the road even without punishing it offroad. :( Last big bogg I blew the casing of my PTO winch apart

Had some good fun in it then realised that its better to not try and kill your daily driver every weekend :(

Plus the FJ40 is 1 Tonne lighter with more power  Makes no sense trying to get a FJ40 up to a 70 serise standard (power steer, disc breaks) but I do it because they are just the best 4x4s out there - just ask the Fonze :!:
