maxxis creepys

Post by safaripete »

if i dont win the maxxis trepadors on tm then these are the next best option on tm atm

question is they are 16s how much of a difference is this to a 15" apart from the rim size is the tyre size the same overall?

also they are down to around 6mm on two and 9mm on the other two would these still preform well offroad?

opinions on what would be best or suggestions would be good

thanks all

creepies are really heavy stiff sidewalled tyres and are suited to heavy trucks like safaris, even on both my cruisers its hard to get them to bag out untill you get down to 8 or 6 or less psi. good tyres in ruts with the side biting lugs espically on 10 inch rims and they stand up well to sidewall damage you get from riverbed work

6 or 9mm tread depth is getting down to spare tyre quality and the price should reflect that :?

6mm would be sand tyres or a spare for me too. What sorta money they after?

Is it these? They do come on rims so maybe not too bad a deal. You'd be looking at $140 a rim probably if you wanted just them new.

Carry on looking man, If you can borrow a 35 or to to use for the set up then just wait till a good set thats worth the money comes along. You wont have it ready to run for a good few months yet so you got plenty of time to find the right ones

yeah man, 37's. Brand new, still have the dangly bits. Just need a 4" lift and maybe some guard trimming. DOOOo ittttttt.

Everyone will be like " wow he has 37's" and think you are cool and stuff.

Worked for me.

Tires will come with passport photo of tires for your wallet if required, so people can see them and think you are cool even when ur away from the truck.

i run the 35 creepies on the 80 dude

have put them on at the lockup before when they were all flat 0-3psi and drove a km down the road to pump them up with no dramas, so as Marty said they take a bit to bag and as you know the 80 weighs 2500kg

awesome in rallywoods tracks though

yes i used to run my crawlers at 8 in the front and 6 in the rear and they were still hard enough to take the weight of the truck on the side wall complete and not push any dirt into the beads

the only tyre that ive run that did not require bead lock rim

from looking at the pics i wouldnt buy them, i reckon you might get a couple of months before they are completley bald and then they are worth nothing. If you cant afford to get anything better then keep saving for a while and buy something that will last years not months. Nothing worse than thowing cash away just caus you couldn't afford that extra couple of hundred for something 10 times as good.

I might think about paying 600 for them but thats it..

um dont know ring up main freight or daily freight to see what they will charge you. the owner will be able to deliver the tyres to there depot in penrose with a pallet and a name label. the rest will be your responsiblity.

as im only doing this on behalf i will be only passing the messages on

cheers
