Newbs - Auckland, Northshore

Post by Pajerosauraus »

Hi all,

What a great site! Quick intoduction:

My fiance and I have just brought our first 4WD (1998 Mitsi Pajero 1.8 IO - just a baby!).

We were hooked after driving the Suzuki Jimny's at 'Off Road NZ' in Rotoroua - looking forward to learning the basic's slowly and upgrading from there.

We thought it would be great to join a club, meet some new people with the common interest and get out 4WD Driving with others (hopefully learn from the huge amount of experience every one has!).

Cheers,
Ben and Jaimee

You are right smack in the middle of three clubs there

Shore 4 wheelers meet in Takapuna,
Norwest meet in Kumeu, and
Rodney meets in Silverdale.

You could visit each club and see who you gel with... most will be like minded individuals though.

Get along to a club meeting - its a great way to get into this sport.

Welcome!

Yeah, clubs are great to get into - you don't necessarily have to be from the area the clubs are from etc (i.e. you can be from NS and join Norwest, like me).

Awesome - a club definitely sounds like the right way to go!

Any recommendations for where to start first? Not too worried about travel but would be keen to be part of quite a social club.

Cheers :)

Most clubs are full of good social people. I'm biased, but I think Norwest could be good for you. We have a mix of modified and standard vehicles, from tuff trucks to shineys.

In the end, it's your choice.

(We meet the 2nd monday of every month at Paddy's bar in Kumeu)
