Next ORE Welly trip

Post by Jerry »

OK Turoa has had enough time....I'm going to plan one in about a month, Aotea play / training for those that want it...suggested dates? BBQ will be there.

Next trip after that Terewhiti?

Then a Comp event on a farm in Makara?

Then Rallywoods? or somewhere?

still organising more detail to follow, can make the Aotea one so it doesn't clash with other ORE & club trips

Can I suggest that people that don't have proper towhooks get them before the comp event and the harder trips....

Suggested gear is:
Rated towhook 10000lb Front & Rear
Towhooks mounted properly
Recovery Strop (Rated)
First aid kit ( a decent one)
Fire Extiinguisher (Metal) 1kg at least 2x1kg better
Spade
All equipment secured properly.

Due to the recovery nature of the comp event and harder trips proper towhooks mounted properly are essential, vehicles may not be able to partipicate in certain events if you don't carry such gear.

We don't want to be put into a position where if you are being recovered with your factory hook or loop and it snaps and goes thru the back of the vehicle recovering you .....

You can get hooks from Stinky http://www.wtbs.co.nz , don't touch supercheap ones, come along to one of his workshop open days or have a chat to him, there are other people that can fit them as well.

If you want some suggested hook mounting specs just yell.

Hi Guys,

Where is Aotea ?

I am in Taranaki, wellington is about 280 k's south of me, just trying to see where your trips are, may be worth a drive down.
Cheers,

Theres a motor camp 2 seconds (well not 2 seconds exactly....probably more like 30 ...or more if you drive like grandma), owners are ccvc members...tell em you are with a 4wd club when you book, its right next door to Turoa's place....(hopefully he isn't grinding his shedrover to bits until 3am in the morning)
