Navara lurching in 4wd

Post by 63swb »

Hi i have a D21 Navara that when in 4WD either high or low ratio seems to have a bit of a jump every 300 - 400 metres when driving. think it must be something to do with the free wheeling hubs? anyone had this happen before?

could be hubs popping in/out.
but just check that previous owner didn't fit a wrong ratio diff or you may have a broken front diff.

hope that helps.

I had a good look at the hubs and cannot see any evidence of wear on the teeth. I do know that the cv's are not in good shape and do click when turning with the hubs engaged but can they get bad enough to cause the ute to jump, even when in a straight line?
