alloy or steel crate for flat deck

going to build a new crate for the back of my truck any ideas on price per mt difference between alloy pipe or 1x1 steel box section?

Im not sure price difference but alloy is light weight for if you take it on off a bit

yea i already got a alloy crate but was made up from a well deck going to build a bigger crate that fits better. if alloys too dear ill just use steel frame and cover with alloy check plate on the top. any info be good on this idea ive got a few ideas how to build it keen to see some pics if any others have one also if anyones intrested in a alloy crate with wooden dog box to fit flat deck or easily converted back too fit a well side pm me

i'm not a fan of alloy decks in general.

problem with alloy is its flexes to much. you have to beef up the sizes to get it stiff enough. tend to loose a lot of cargo space.

cost wise, i couldn't tell you. you have to weigh up welding/bolts/ etc and also if you galv the steel.

cost wise just looking at per/m of product as will barter meat for welding etc. can anybody tell me then weres the best place to go to buy steel or alloy

nice find m8 have been keeping an eye on trade me thats pretty cheap too not quite wat i had in mind tho want to make one that follows same shape as bar on front of deck my truck has too look pretty lol :lol:

its off a late shape hilux but mines an 04 and it follows body line should fit most hilux's id say i took some pics other night ill try figure out how to put them up or pm me your email adress
