Getting a camera next week so will start updating with pics!

So I've done a couple of little fix up sorting out jobs.

Got my torsion bar anchor out, Smashed it abit with a hammer to put it back into shape! worked OK and got then re indexed back up into the cross-member finally!

Also done as you said would be best KIWI_TERRANO, Spent a day at SIT last week cutting and welding my standard air-box, Got the 3" intake welded on, then went to something Fittings on annex road to get some 3" flexi pipe to hook it up with snorkel(No where in Rangiora had any... I tried, plumbing world, Mitre 10, Irrigation warehouse, Daiken heat pumps, and a couple of other places....)

Have noticed a difference, compared to the hot air it was sucking through a 2" hole, to now getting cold air through a 3" snorkel.

Gotta make up an oil catch can as its blowing alot through the intake... Also when i was doing torsions realized my right hand inner cv boot is cutties, just replaced the left hand one about 2 months ago.

Ok heres an update, Finally got another camera!

New mount to put rope on, As you can see its bent a wee bit, will weld a brace on when i get a chance.
Image

New idler arm, shorter than genuine nissan, had to pack out with washers for brace, Dont think it will be working all that well....
Image

This shows the draglink hitting the chassis, This is on flat ground.... pretty bad really....
Image

Engine bay, Can see big oil leaks around intake pipe from turb to inlet mani, Iv put a bottle as a catch can for abit to see if its coming from rocker cover or if seals in turbo are gone.
Image

Snorkel all mounted, painted and plumbed up.
Image

Bit of a scratch..
Image

Amp mounted
Image

Im looking at getting a cheap spotlight for the back, for night 4wding, Id just weld a bar to sit it back abit so the spare tyre doesnt block the light.

All that oil doesn't mean turbo seals are shot. When you run bigger boost, the air can't get through the air filter fast enough and it sucks from the crankcase breather which contains a heap of oil.
The place where it is coming from can be modified to seal it up to stop the boost pressure and the oil escaping.
Remove the butterfly assembly and plug holes with bolts or alike.
Also consider making/buying a breather dump can to help separate the oil from the crank case breather.

Here's the simple remedy for the shaft replacement.

Oh yes that looks easy enough to do! will do it on sunday hopefully I will have enough time off. Would that be why the other day i whipped the vacuum hose of the wastegate and was only getting a max of 12psi, and there was a very loud turbo whistle(im guessing leak)?

The loud whistle is from the hole where the breather went as I see you haven't blocked the nipple off at the S bend.
If you want to see if the induction system has any restrictions, take the "S" bend out and use a pod filter or similar for diagnosis purposes.

Oh na the loud whistle was from before i disconnected the breather and put into the bottle(also i did block the breather off, it has been taped up pretty well! i wouldnt leave is sucking in unfiltered air!)

My bad. couldn't see the tape
12 pound isn't much with no waste gate connected.
Either the turbo is on it's way out or there is a restriction somewhere.
Still disconnect the S bend and try (with some sort of filtration, as it is a dirty engine bay (just like mine  ).
Or I'm thinking, when it was over fuelling you have chocked your muffler up. If you can, disconnect exhaust at first flange after the dump pipe, try that.
With standard exhaust, pod filter and no waste-gate it should be up around 16-18 psi.
Best of luck.

Hi, looking good.
I'm interested in the home made snorkel / air box mods. Do you have more pics of the airbox and snorkel setup?
Was thinking the same about making my own as I don't have 300 squid to blow on some platic pipe.

Hey mate, My brother has my truck at the moment but im happy to get more pics of it when i next see it for you. I paid 180 for the snorkel itself, but you could make that part yourself aswell.

Could be a plan, I have a small front mount off my sr20det bluebird that i may beable to fit somehow. I'll measure up and see how it goes. Such a bastard, atm we run out of light at 5pm and i only have sundays off, not alot of time to get shit done.

Just bought 2x KL71 33's. Now what i need to know is, Will i definitly need a body lift to fit them? or with a lil bit of gaurd chop will it be allgood?

Idealy you need body and suspension lift. I have 2" body and 2.5" suspension lift with front guards trimmed near the doors and I still get rubbing. Rear guards will rub on articulation too but i cannot afford to get them trimmed ATM.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

Why do people always do this backwards the wrong way round and upside down????

Why would you dump more fuel into your engine with out giving it more air to burn it with??

That just creates heat, and clouds of black smoke that make your truck look like a shitter

Get your self a boost tap and tweak the boost up to were ever you want it to be or bypass the waste gate altogether, then increase your fueling but stop before it smokes at full boost.

Its that easy, and that simple :D :D :D

Ok, I have 2" suspension. Guess I'll need to get body aswel. One other thing, To guard chop, Can you just take to it with an angle grinder, and then tidy it up? does it come out alright?

Oh lol, I was not going to put more fuel in with the standard boost.... Im going to run 17psi as TDpower said, But i want an EGT gauge before upping fuel, And i need to up fuel to up boost. So before anything happens, i need an EGT :)

Urrrrrrrm, no, you don't need to up the fuel to up the boost on a diesel.

Like I said, fit a boost tap or just bypass the waste gate altogether.

Its simple. Pop the hose off the waste gate actuator, put a screw in the end of the hose and go for a drive. Hey presto, more boost.

After you have done that, then play with the fuel.

I'm guessing your experience is with Petrol engines in cars, were upping the boost with out upping the fuel to match leads to a leen mixture, heat and engine destruction??

Total opposite with a diesel.

You give then only the barest amount of fuel they need to make the boost and power you want.

Do the waste gate thing and report back what it boosts to!!!!!

Oh i see, So if i free boost it right now the worst that can happen is blown turbo, or not as much power as possible because it doesnt have enough fuel? but it wont melt anything?

I have whipped the wastegate pipe off, and it only made 13psi... Think its due to a boost leak cos i can hear a massive whistle, And it know were it is, look up the page and you'l see what Simon told me to do.

on way home from town early this morning my brakes got really hard, and lights started dimming, so i thought it must be alternater belt because of vaccuum pump also. When i got home i took a look and found that the oil filler had popped off, gushed oil everywhere and the alternater tensioner bolt had snapped off! Luckily there is still alot of oil in engine....
