finally... got the engine into the surf!

looks like throttle cable is long enough. throttle body is being a pain as the 2lt-e one fouls on the injector pipes. so got to find a 2lt one or make one from scratch.

Went out for a drive in the Aka's with my club. 7 trucks, 1 chainsaw (used on 4 fallen trees), Winch used once on a truck, lots on trees. Fairly easy trip, but good to be out there doin' it.

Arhhhh got called into work on Saturday AM.
Spent a little time playing in the garage today, checking out my hydraulic setup for winch freespool.
Using an old handbrake for the lever.
Dam thing wouldn't work right, kept hydraulic locking. Pulled the master cylinder apart to find it was full of sand.
Works a treat now, just have to make up a cunning linkage system to allow it to fit under my center console.
Will have two handbrake levers, might paint freespool one red and yellow with "ejection seat" written on it. Give the wof man a giggle

Well got this done over the weekend...

Thanks to Jason (ClassicCruiserSpares) I got a really good price for some HD Lift springs. so I fitted them over the weekend and now I can do this without guard rubbing :) very happy. Cheers for the hook up much appreciated.

And it gave me about 100mm lift before it settles so should end up around the 70mm mark

The picture with the springs even though its 400x400 it still says its over 801 pixels so cant be bothered loading that one up.

ahh well on the way up north the suzuki got hot, pulled over and rad cap was cold and so was overflow, so in my infinite wisdom took cap off, long story short found rad cap after a while and re filled with water, still ran a bit hot,

so today i took out rad cleaned heaps of mud and crap out of it, but still as soon as you pit a bit of load on the temp goes up to half, but cools real quick when you button off or go down hill. might be a blown head gasket me thinks    Might explain the tiny amount of mayonnaise i get every so often. and the odd bit of white smoke most of the time when off road. :?

Then today I also found out why the snorkel was still letting bloddy water into the intake, thank god air filters

Not such a great weekend, My bluebird ran a bearing(been ticking for a bloody long time now, was gonna happen sooner or later) so took the terrano to town, and the tensioner bolt on alt snapped.... So had to get home with hard brakes and lights getting dimmer and dimmer. So atm got no vehicles that i can use... Will get terrano sorted tomorrow though.

Replaced pitman arm and adjusted RH wheel bearing on pajero for wof so hopefully get it after work tomorrow :) .Also decided to pull off front recovery hooks and give everthing a good clean up and slap some more black on it, noticed there were no numbers stamped on the bolt heads  ( 8.8 or similar) should I change them :?: hooks were new when purchased and looked ok when I pulled em out and gave em a bit of a wire brush to clean up.Must admit didn't look at time of purchase just opened up the package and took everything out and through em on

I think we'll have a club run too (if there is enough interest  )
Hope to have a new truck by then or the terranosarus will have a new gearbox and going for it's first ride on a trailer

Hi Forge1,

The Landrover Club will be on Patrol the weekend of the 20th and 21st of August with our Club having a run on in the forest at Woodhill on the Sunday, I might see if Ken will come and play

It just gives you another option.

Cheers Brett
