We are going to leave you guys and girls to it and head elsewhere.
With our numbers increasing and with both parties at the hut it will be too crowded. We can go there anytime and its such a special place the North Island crew especially need to enjoy it.
Have an awesome trip. Might catch up some time to find out what that Blue Shit tastes like.
Cheers

Thanks for that, it's appreciated, but I'm sure it would have been a great party. I think i'll still sleep in back of truck away from the snorers

That bath could be quite inviting with a wee fire under it (and a few bourbons)

If I knew how to post a photo I have one of one of our club members in it at mid night. The ice had to be broken with an axe.
Silly bugger was to quick for me to get a photo so had to get back in.
He says it was no colder than when he took a dip down in Antarctica.

Would someone going on this trip be able to pick up a set of snowchains for me from burnside in Christchurch if I buy them? Would owe you a beer or two.

I'd say there hasnt been that much more snow up there, as I have been looking at the web cam each day, some of those recoveries would have been us

Same plan Nick. If we can't make it to the hut then we will assess the situation then, but I'd imagine the only drama would possibly be having to walk the last hill which is directly in front of the hut.

I think some of the Welly crew were thinking about heading back to Hamner early for the mudplug if there wasn't any snow but it looks like there will be plenty.

Will do a final tally up this arvo as it looks like we have a few extras!

Also, heading from Auckland to Picton tonight if anyone needs anything taken down. Only smallish stuff mind as I will be pretty chocker with boxes of Dunkin Dughnuts

Hey,

Does anyone have a spare seat coming back on the Sunday?
My passenger can't get work off on Monday and I'm staying down to go up another valley so he needs a ride back if possible. He lives near the Sockburn round about.

Cheers,
Taz.
