Hi
Can anyone tell me what the diameter of the rear axle shaft on a 85ish hilux axle . I guess the rear wheel bearing I/D will be the widest point . Want to know if it will fit in my lathe before I pull it apart for a disc conversion .
Cheers
Chris
Hilux rear shaft dia
I'll post some pics of the setup... and the plates should be there early next week.
The handbrake setup is easy now I've done 3 or 4 of them... got a nice simple fix that requires a couple of bits of metal and some welding.
Oh, how long is your bed... you could put the splined end into the 3-jaw and use a travelling steady to hold it at the other end... bit gash but will work in a pinch... or the other option is to put it in gear and run it on jackstands then use an angle grider to slim down the hub flange. That won't help to enlarge the hole in the disc rotor tho.

Hi
A few pic's on what you have done will speed up the ideas . Cheers .
He He , though about running it , think it was mentioned in an old post . The bed would be long enough but my steady is crap , will sort something out . So you skim the flange down to fit the disc over but I take it you need to open up the inside dia of the disc to fit over the flange of the axle . Lathe is big enough to do that . I am about a cm out from being able to skim the centres out of a wheel so a disc should fit in fine .
Chris
Ps I can get disc's for 75+Gst so if I need them probably just as easy to get them here as the shipping would make it about the same .
