efi fuel tank q?

Post by J_Dub »

just sorting out the tank for my 3.8 comy conversion
and im thinking I might fit 1 to the deck of the hilux
if thats the case I want one that looks a little more pleasing to the eye then a hilux tank..

would any efi tank with internal pump thats out of a vehicle with a reletively good size motor suit???

ive seen these 2 on trademe that look pretty good

That Jeep one looks ideal, It even has the mounting straps to hold it down in the tray.
The pump should be more than adequate after all it supplies enough juice for the Jeep motor and they use heaps of fuel

The pump i used in my fuel system was just some random one i had laying about and it runs my V8 no worries.

My tank is from a 130 surf that had the mighty 3Y-E in it and they had about 5kw  and that supplies plenty of fuel for the V8 in my Lux.

my main reason for looking at other tanks as opposed to the comy tank or a hilux 1, is that if I decide to mount it on the deck, I want it to look half respectable, hilux or comy tanks would look rough sitting on a ute tray imo

yea I have thought that I could build a cover but if I could just buy a tank like that cherokee 1 it would make sense, ive got plenty a storage space either way, and am thinking for the small work involved its worth getting the tank out of the way from under the drivers side and up over the rear axle

make a tank out of a old keg and have it polished, seen it done on a courier that had a rotor in it, dont think it would last to long tho lol
