What new Battery

Post by kooze »

Went to start my prado yesterday in the snow (chch), and she wouldnt turn over battery was flat as a pancake, wouldn't jump start either. Over the past few months it has gone flat a hand full of times so im guessing its pretty well stuffed?

Is there anychance of saving it?
or
Should i buy a new one , if so is it worth forking out for a new one or would an off the shelf one from repco or the like do the trick?

Had a brief serach through the forums on here learnt about "cca" but still have no idea what im looking for

also there is a few random wires coming of the positive terminal looks like they go to the lights any chance it would be causing it to drain?

Cheers

Yeah battery sounds stuffed. How olds the battery? Under warranty? Do you run spot lights, radios winch ect? Put a volt meter on it and see if its drawing.
GU patrol 35s ect.

Was drawing stuff all from memory, has a guage on the turbo timer but wasnt really showing that clear. Unsure of battery age . Trucks looks like the factory lights and a few other wires are coming off the positive terminal will take a photo tomorrow

like most things you will pay for what you get, try asking round mechanic friends ect and see if they will buy you a battery through their work. you would be suprised how much the mark up is on some batteries
