Does anyone have a spare seat coming back on the Sunday? My passenger can't get work off on Monday and I'm staying down to go up another valley so he needs a ride back if possible. He lives near the Sockburn round about.
Cheers, Taz.
I could see how my truck looks, could possibly squeeze 1 in... if i leave back seat in, would be a squeeze but could be possible to do if i strategically stack items, also... i will be bringing a firearm, just to let people know, if someone isn't happy with that ill leave it at home

I've taken my seasickness pills and are ready to go, we've got 3 trucks on the 2.30pm sailing and 2 on the 6.40pm sailing from Wgtn, I think us guys on the early sailing are heading straight through to Rangiora tonight

Time off work New tyres all round.. new strops......(thanks to my son and boarder and looks like I'm going nowhere
Looks Like I'm not going to make it on the trip after all folks Truck developed gear problems out of Westport and not looking good for getting fixed for awhile
The Cruiser is dead Went to collect today and the mechanic said the injector pump was kaput. I will try to track one down tommorow and install, but not looking hopefull. If I get lucky I'll catch up with you fulla's down there. If not have a good one and drink plenty of blue shit Richard
all packed and almost ready to hit the road for the company of some good ORE bastards and hillfilly. will try to have the cameras ready for jerry to have a bath. do we have a time that he will stay in for??????? See you guys in rolly or tekapo......
Sadam, late morning, was saying that he is going to get rid of those crap toyomotors cause the whale was so much better to be in and way cooler than a landcruiser and more comfortable
He was also complaining of smelling like a wetdog, after the time spent in taz01 pos
He was looking forward to camping in it overnight with Taz, something about taz01 lack of teeth
Jeery was wondering if they were there yet
When they met up with 2's at Rolly he was looking thin and gaunt. Not enough uni drinking games, or too many!!!
Taz and Sadam did mention something about Jeery keeping them warm at night. What was it about that 'special chair' again taz??
No contact since, hopefully they survive the weekend, if not then I am sure we will hear about it
All of them made it up to the hut with no real problems, other than Taz's weee ute jumping in and out of 4WD.
It was bloody wet and windy up at the hut, I got to try some of the blue shit, very very nice indeed. I bet they will be using it to help keep themselves warm tonight.
Not as much snow on the ground up there, since my last trip 2 weeks ago. They should get some snow overnight, fingers crossed.
Awesome blue sky winter weekend! Packed out hut, but everyone was totally chilled out, some good yarns & lies being told. Tony (red & silver LWB hi roof Nissan) - sorry don't know your forum name - I found some of your kids jackets & gloves after you left. They're now at Woodend at one of the CLROC guys place. PM me and I'll give you his details. Cheers Steve

Trip was great, apart from the lack of toyota support... rocked up at rolly early, all i saw was safaris... all up 2 landcruisers, 8 safaris and jeremies navara??, alot of alcohol friday night, mostly drunk by 2 people. forced skull of "Blue shit" abit of jagermeister, and abit of 50% vodka topped one persons night, further stories of this im sure will be told. saturday saw, me and tony staying behind and going for abit of a hunt, while the rest ventured up to godley glacier, very late night for the 4x4'ers, some didn't arrive back till ~2230 as they took a detour to the pub. Saturday night ended up rather packed with an extra 6 trucks turning up ranging from toyotas with mud tyres to a new hilux surf with road tyres and no lockers. Possum introduced the visitors to the old hair race game... pictures will be put up i'm sure Sunday, early wake up... rather cold night in the tent for afew of us, waking to frozen boots and socks. Had a play in the snow while leaving. After abit of abuse for driving a toyota and it not being muddy, i struggled to get a tow after getting bogged within 500m of camp. i did spot all the safaris looking at me (JR with his bino's) i got a random to attempt to tow me, eventualy Graham felt like ripping my truck in half and sent me into orbit, and by the smile on his face, he enjoyed it. I got my revenge and towed a "SAFARI" out (No proof was taken) as i wasn't allowed to take photos of a cruiser towing a safari. apart from that, it was a easy drive back since we stayed to the track... Thanks for the trip, nice to met all and hope all a safe drive back home and hope to see you all next year
