off possum shooting tonight, the access track is sooo bad I had to put my 33's back on and use the winch for 1/3rd of the track last week when we went up there.

Went into work today to learn some new skills.

Got my workmate to stick weld my top trailing arm mount back on and as he was moving the stick away it hit my brake line and put a hole in it

Had to get home so I chucked my vice grips on the rear brake hose and some minute mend on... am now safely home

Pick a part didnt have any surfs either  so on the hunt for one of those this weekend.

Got a WOF on the Terranosaurus II today
Long story short, went the wof guy and his mechanic hadn't turned up (a mate of mine) so I helped his boss to do a 1uz ecu splice into a 2007 hilux tryback and got rid of the over-fuelling that has plagued them for weeks. A few guys (so called experts) had had a go at it and it was a mess
Got it running mint.
Free warrant for me

Now to park it up for the transformation 8)

Cheers,
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

got new turbo bolted up this week.
getting accessories bolted on. found oil hose 1" short and local shop sold out of hose.

custom flange and pipe came from autobend, hole in flange was a fraction undersized  . so spend some time today filling it out to proper size. then squished the not so round pipe into shape and fitted it in the flange. got it welded and gave it a quick paint.

modded glow plug wiring.

then got rained out.

Not much spare time for the beast so far...
Small welding job on the standard diff breather to allow hose to connect for extender breather.
Fitted snorkle (much overdue task) i see why i was putting it off, 40series firewalls are not the easiest to cut a 89mm hole through!
Fixed up the unused holes in the dash as they were bugging me.
Fitter fire Extinguisher.
Tomorrows task: strip and rebuild the steering knuckles and get the water/oil out of front axel. (hence now the diff breather!)

Cheers,

so this is why the 40 couldn't go in today... knew it was running rough when i was in earlier in the week, mean looking truck.

today i pulled the gearbox out, only took 1.5hrs should really have done it earlier, if id only known it was going to be so easy... going in to get sorted monday. :D got some steel off cuts of uwshho, cheers bro, and set about making up brackets for the window washer bottle and plumbed it all in, fuse box and what not. also been working on a roof panel for a light, prs and some sounds. Some mud in a couple weeks i think! :D

Right so after too many oj's last night I ended up feeling great this morning but it was a beautiful day so decided to go spend a couple of hours up at woodhill.

Was heading through a big dip in the track and just as I went into it someone stole my 37s and my front and rear lockers   and I got well and truly beached.

Well spent today running around Woodhill pulling out surf's
Oh and a Nissan...times 2.
And that black ute thing.

Electric winch got a work out and my new rope is not so new now.
Tested the suspension to see if it would hit any of the mid mount pto winch.... No bangs were heard or felt.
But will give it a good looking at in daylight.
Even got a bit of a night run looking for two lost souls... Never found them. Must have got out another way.

Was quite a busy weekend...

Saturday put some new spekers in the wifes challenger and went for a drive and got stuck on the side of the highway haha even in 4wd it still wouldnt get through so lucky its a remuera tractor.

Also started putting the new towbar/rear recovery point on the bighorn (pick below) much stronger than the one I used to have on there.

Image

Also got this for $1200

Image

so now I dont have to worry about getting the bighorn wof or regd for now as I can just tow it behind this :)
