Prado EX5 vs SX5? Buying Advice?

Currently looking for a mid size diesel 4 door truck. Looking to spend upto about 5k and liking the look of the 93ish Prado's. I do about 30-50,000km/year so mostly onroad with a few shiny trips etc etc... Will have kayaks on the roof getting to the rivers etc etc

Probably a small lift to fit 33's, winch, snorkle, maybe bars and that'll be about it...

Looked them up on wikipedia and they mention a EX5 & SX5.

Does anyone know the difference between the Prado EX5 vs SX5.

Was the rear difflock standard factory on one of them or just a optional extra? Did any of them come out with front lockers too?

Any tips or things to look out for? (or know of any around?)

i have a 94 kzj71 SX im not sure about the 5 tho, mine has no lockers

I have a lj78 LWB and it is a EX5.Has the factory rear diff lock and had the 2lte motor

The EX is the luxury/high spec model, comes with fancy pants things like altimeter and inside/outside temp gauge, possibly highrolla trim too. I think the e-locker is just an optional extra and is therefore found on both SX and EX but could be wrong.

The majority I see on Tard Me have recently had heads done, so pretty much bank on that happening if it hasn't recently been done I guess

My old man has a 91 lj78 LWB and its a SX5.
It has the 2LTe and the altimeter and inside/outside thermometer. No lockers...
