Body Lift and suspension in the new truck, rim repaired and getting fitted so the 33's can go on !

ready for barwork.

Just gonna get winch serviced while its off, and need a new winch solenoid as the old one got a bit sandy.

Before

Image

And here`s throwing the Body lift blocks in and installing the suspension.

Image

And here she sits all raised, ready for the bars and winch to go on.

Now gotta decide if I want to chuck the manual diff in so i can bin the vaccum assisted stuff.

Is there any pro or con to one or the other ?

Been sorting out storage in the lux, there's not much room in a bobbed tray when you've got the radiator, spare and fuel tank in there.
So had to get a little bit creative, made a rack over the fuel tank.

Image

Enough for 2 tool box's and a tool set.

Image

Then started on a frame in the back corner for one more storage box.

Image

Image

Not much room left now

started the weekend helping a mate put new tires on a 4wd quad and proceeded to smash my thumb when we released the ratchet strop we were using to seat the beads.Quick trip down to A&E for a plaster and verdict was broken thumb ,bugger .they put a splint on then it was off up country for the palmy swapmeet held at fielding .Trying to sell my impala to free up some shed space .bought a nice ls1 complete intake for a lazy hundy .Pretty stoked with that .Need it for another mate whos ls1 is fly by wire but we want to convert it back to mechanical butterfly.managed to get out in the garage for a couple of hours and made a start on sadams wiring loom .Lots and lots of wires .was a bit puzzling at first then the penny dropped that we had been supplied with parts of 2 different looms .Once i twigged to that it worked out a lot easier .still got a few more hours to do on the loom then on to the exhaust .Hint sadam ,need fuel tank and pto driveshaft so can work out where i can run exhaust . now inside about to take some pain killers as knocked my thumb in the garage and now it hurts like a bastard :x

Well my weekend achievements are:

Replaced Rear eye spring bushes on the safari (only thing it failed a wof on) and they had been put on the wrong way as the fuel tank was in the way when taking them out. 3 hours later all done and a badly dented fuel tank (nearly pearced it   )

Went to fit the rear bumper on AGAIN to the bighorn as there wasnt something right and spend a few hours trying to figure it out, bent things, swore at things, got the hammer out and still couldnt get it to line up had a closer look and forgot to cut one piece of the bumper off  so went to cut it off. dropped the ginder broke the cutting wheel, had some spare ones but thicker used one then, that cut half way and shattered (lucky no injuries) put the last one on and that suffered the same fate with no injuries to be the it broke my grinder so get a new one next week. Gave up put the towbar on and put it back in the shed.

This morning went for a bit of a tiky tour around one of the local forrests. Nothing exciting bar the track getting into the forrest and didnt break anything this time. so thats got to be a bonus. pretty suprised as I was on 2 wheels going up a hill (rear ones) and landed on full throttle 2nd gear and the cvs handled as I was waiting for the bang lol.

Actually did this during the week.

Swapped both 4.875 diffs for 5.125 ones and slipped an LSD in the back. The LSD works wonders on the road, the truck has been transformed from a tractionless revver to something that has grip when taking off from right hand turn intersections.
