13-14 August

Post by lincooln »

Well I will start off,

Went to Palmy this weekend, Stayed in Taihape Friday and Saturday nights, Dropped off a roll cage to chevrolux (sorry about waking you up) and picked up a bunch of parts off safaripete, (cheers for the extras too mate, and your zuk looks awesome, will be great to see it finished sometime.) and cheers to sibainmud for the use of his trailer.

Drive home was good, every possible weather condition, (sun, cloud, rain, snow, hail, wind) all in all an awesome weekend.

some times the valve in the pump gets weak just put a non return valve in the fuel line as close as you can to the pump and all should be good

Helped someone shift house yesterday and took a mental note never to help again when somebody is moving 2 fish tanks that take nearly 8 strong men to lift

today had a sleep in then fitted the modified hi-lift jack holder to the 80 after a few more changes ........................

then got out the snowboard to make sure it still worked before heading up the mountain this week................

^ I think I read something about moving fishtanks on someone on my facebook's thing earlier.

I went for a cruise in the snow. horrible shit. So many muppets cruising around at normal speeds in thick snow in little shopping basket cars. saw a fair few near misses.

I started the EGR removal on the engine and to get rid of all those small rubber tubes, first part done removed the cross over pipe and the leaking valves, and used blanking plates which I did on CAD and the plates fit.

Next thing is to sort out all those rubber tubes/hoses, once that is done the engine bay will look alot better.

What are you wanting for it bro?

My weekend well I started with my bro n laws 20th at my place which went rather well, plenty of kai and plenty to drink.
Today I cut more of the support off the bighorn bumper so it would fit properly and finally after many hours I finally got it on.

Also took the Safari for a little trip around town to try and charge the batteries and so far it starts every morning but the batteries are still not fully charged so owell will just wait and see what happens.

I think that was the Manukau Club,

Would of tryed to catch a ride with some one, was told that the last go at it was good.

But headed off up the Mountain in the new shiney instead, for my probably my only skiing weekend of the year.
Home along the desert rd this lunchtime in the snow - choice.

Mitzi Petrol 3.0 - first decent run and a couple of go's to the ski fields and 10.7L/100kms - stoked with that!

Also a qucik rescue of a mates hilux at Huka falls, was only a flat battery, But I'll chalk it up.

All in all fairly uneventful...

Had the exhaust fixed up and an engine mount replaced on Thursday then spent saturday swapping wheels over to the old SATs as a guy was keen for a swap for an SJ413 plus a bit of cash my way... after pissing about swapping wheels, loading spares, canopy etc on, unbolting tool boxes and emptying then driving to the middle of nowhere he decided he wasn't keen... now have to unload everything and put proper wheels/tyres back on (drives pretty average on the SAT's) so I can drive it again... grr!

Someone just buy it already? $3500?
