Re: Are bighorn front A arms and axles longer than Mu
I beleive that is true for example the tie rods on a 3.1 Mu are about 50mm shorter than a 3.1 bighorn.
A ggod place to double check though would be
www.clubisuzu.com

Yes they are my friend has Bighorn front running gear in his Mu and the front A arms are wider than mine(3.1TD Mu), tie rods are longer too, c.V are bigger aswell not to sure if they are longer only bigger diameter on spline.

Re: Are bighorn front A arms and axles longer than Mu
sweet thanks guys
havent started chopping up my MU
its a 2.8 auto
2.8 cos they suposed to be stronger
auto as i find it easyer accerating whilst mantaining traction and
trying not to wheel spin
ive got 32' simexs on her at mo
and just doing abit of home work before i do anything
how do i find out what diff ratio i have .
thinking either shackles or complete coil rearend from something .
thinking if i get a big horn front arms etc
why not just slap in the coiled rear while im there
this will just be a trailer baby so dents and shit no probs
just want to do as much of this as i can .
It want it to have a lil mopre clearance but a shit load more travel
but as light as possible
Anyother suggestions would be appreciated
this is my first build attempt so want to keep it relatively simple using readily available parts

Hey ant-neil,
As like the above post go to the site ClubIsuzu they are very helpful there nice bunch of people there, as for your build Iam sure there will be something on that site.
As for your Ratio I found out that I have a ratio 4:3 I had the diff head out so it was easy to find the ratio just by counting the number of teeth on both crown gear and pinion divide one by the other and there you have it for example in my case 43 teeth on crown gear and 10 on the pinion so 43 divided by 10 4.3 ratio.
Now to do it with out having to take diff head out is to rotate wheel once, count number of times drive shaft goes around divide number by 2, this is what I have been told to do, I have not tried this method myself.
Cheers

Yeah I have not bothered to check if there is a sticker on the truck somewere or even in the engine bay, yeah I can agree with you noghting is never easy.
Anyway I will be watching this thread with intrest and looking forward to the outcome.
As for my Mu all I have done is suspension lift, body lift, 2.5" exhaust, future will intercool it up the boost a little and may be up the fuel.
Also were are you from?
Cheers.

in taranaki mate
ive only just started getting to to 4wd abit more over the last year. had a V6 terrano went good but just getting to dented up so wanted some thing smaller and lighter (easyer to trailer) the terrano is gone now so the mu is getting the some hard loving
Im a share milker and busy calving for the next month so just collecting parts and getting ready to strip it etc after that.
im gonna move the tank up to the back seat as its getting to beatin up under neath. Any reason why i cant use a boat tank on a diesel.
oh and all back end cut back to end of leaf spring for straters , un bolt al rear section of the roof move battery to floor behind drivers seat and cold air box into glove box.

x 2 I would get a good second hand LSD and chuck that in the back you wont believe were your truck will go with an LSD, then if I were you start saving up for a locker.
