Post by jonossiksilvia »

hi

im have removed my diesel engine and fitting a petrol in its place. i allready have a pump to fit in the diesel tank but am not sure what to use to flush out the diesel tank and lines?

what have u guys used to flush them after draining empty?
i suppose a very little of diesel residue wont harm anything (injectors)?

cheers in advance guys

I just gave it a quick slush out with petrol then put a full tank in, was a bit smokey for half an hour then was all good.

cheers for that - was the smoke caused from the oil content in diesel? if so i guessing no harm for only the short time of burning diesel?

the parafin in desiel is ment to lube as it is pumped through so it wont hurt anything for a small amoutn of time ,yea we used petrol or kero to kleen it out of the truck tanks and gave it a good rub as it can leave residue ,(we cleaned them out because they had desiel bug so we were pretty pedantic about it) :D chur
