Class 2 Pajero

Post by madmatt »

Righto, wanna try something new. I wanna go fast and do some sweet jumps! :D

First thing I need is a 6 point cage. Anyone able to help me out or point me in the right direction?

Cheers, Matt

I take it from your title Class 2 with ref to ORANZ off road racing?
They have the rule book online with all the info to comply.
But I think Class 6 is more suited to road legal vehicles."Could be wrong"

I am currently doing one for mine based on the ORANZ rules so I can enter a winch competition in the future.

There are cage builders out there like http://www.rollcage.co.nz/Home_Page.php
But I am sure there are others.
I am doing my own mainly due to cost.

Also you need to consider if your cage will interfere with any LTSA rules.... Interior Impact is the main one. May need to be certed, that's if you want it a road legal truck.

Have fun.

Yeah, taking it off the road Calvin so I can play and modify without worry of offending the authorities. Trying to save as much dosh as I can myself but being a builder by trade I have some clues but the metal working skills aint the best. Might have to spend a bit on the cage though, safety first!!

Personally I would do all the heavy stuff first ie cage, bar work.
And any weight reductions before playing with the suspension.
As you just get it right then add or remove weight and upset it all again.

Keep us posted on the evolution....

Yup, got all the rules and stuff, its more the practical stuff now. Never built cages and such. Once I have the cage sorted the rest I can sort. I looked at buying that truck you've got, would've been a lot easier for me I'm sure..
