Post by rumble11 »

hay there just curious on my options for getting lower gearing for my sj410 im running tractor grips and by jesus they can get some placed but unfortunately i tgot stuck in a real clay bog hole and got totally bogged cause the truck couldn't turn the tyres?i have the model with the front disk brakes and 4wd light on the transfer case.is it possible for me to get a 413 transfer case and do a roklobster?or am i better of buying a gearing kit for over the states and installing those?

a rock lobster or 4.16 gear ser is made from cutting and welding half 413,half 410 counter gear together. and then mix and match some gears .
. machining of the hardened gear is expensive ,due to cutting head use .

But you have the hard part find , the 84 410 transfercase, so proborbly a bit cheaper than imported gears.

Or you could sell your current transfer case as they are quite desirable (I'm looking for one) and buy some transfer gears from the US. This would give you a greater range of gearing options to choose from depending on what size your tyres are.

Any decent engineering shop should be able to machine and tig weld the gear together.
