P40 engine power is 145 hp vs. 130 hp in P engine.
Whether the difference in power is due to using a different carb only?
Is there another engine elemnet affects the power difference?
If i will change only the carburetor will i get extra 15 hp?

Re: Nissan P engine vs. P40
yeah theres more to it than just the carb mate, dunno the difference between those two motors but compression, air flow (valve size, porting, manifolds), cam lift and duration etc all affect HP and torque
Re: Nissan P engine vs. P40
Hey there.
I'm doing a full rebuild on a p40 engine right now, to fit into a 76 G60. The old P motor is on it's way out. I've done some research on it, if you're looking for answers, the guys at RMP-O forum and Patrol 4x4 are pretty clever!
My plan is to take advantage of the newer gearboxes, brakes, diffs, power steering, and power output of the later model motor. It's not a straight forward fit though.....could be a long while before its on the road! I'm considering EFI as suggested by David_S at Patrok 4x4
